People often ask questions like this: "What are they teaching kids in schools these days?" Many people wonder about the overt messages and the hidden messages in educational materials from digital to textbooks. It's a legitimate concern. Changes in accepted moral standards in our culture pervade every subject.

As a homeschooling parent, you can do what you really believe is best for your children — even if “everyone” else is doing x, y, or z. You can choose what is tugging at your heart, instead of what is screaming in your ear. Don’t let fear of missing out, not being enough, being different, being overwhelmed, or any other dart the enemy can throw tempt you to take your eyes off what is eternal. Believe that God wouldn’t have given you your children to teach if He hadn’t thought you could do it.

We all need to pray for wisdom to:

  •  stay within the safe boundaries God has provided for our good.

  •  experience the growth He offers to us in Jesus.

  •  give us good judgment to make wise decisions.

  •  show His righteousness to our children. 

God calls us to be very different from the world. In Romans He told us:

. . . do not be conformed to this world,

but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, 

so that you may prove what the will of God is,

that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:2 NASB

We can be grateful for God’s absolutes. We have a Father Who loves us enough to teach us the best way. Our children need to know how God wants them to live. In His wisdom, He gave mamas and daddies the responsibility to love their children enough to teach them the best way, too.
